KKK Disavows Fred Phelps

It’s pretty bad when even the Ku Klan Klan takes steps to distance themselves from your little hatefest, isn’t it?

Jolonan from Reflections from a Murky Pond relays this precious tidbit of irony:

You know – or should know – it’s bad when even the Ku Klux Klan feels the need to publicly repudiate your behavior, and that is exactly the situation in which Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church find themselves in.

The KKK Repudiates Westboro Baptist Church’s Activities

Yes, the above is a partial screenshot of the KKK’s website’s homepage which I’ve posted here both so that people don’t have to go to the Klan’s site and in to keep a record of it when they later remove the news release.

It seems that nearly everyone – even groups known for their hate and public displays – is arrayed against Phelps and his congregation.

Boy, Fred, it must suck to be at the very, very bottom of the totem pole. Unfortunately, it probably just reinforces the Phelps’ persecution complex and convinces them that they’re that much right.

Christianists come under a big umbrella. You are all fucking nutcases.

“Christianists”? What is a Christianist? Did you make that one up yourself, or is that some post-modern pseudo-intellectual
nonsense used as an elitist insult?

Are you sure you didn’t mean “Democrat”? Because the KKK was founded as an enforcement arm of the Democratic Party, and Fred Phelps is also a loyal Democrat.

Technically the KKK was founded as a fraternity for bored southern men with too much time on their hands. Then after the Civil War former Confederate soldiers turned it into a terror group against the newly freed blacks. If your interested I would reccommend the History Channel’s “The Ku Klux Klan – A Secret History”. It is facinating, disturbing, and frightening all at the same time.
