NPR Fearmongering “Patriots”
Posted by The Republican Heretic in Liberalism, Media, Tea Party on Thu 18 Mar 2010
It appears that discussions of the blame game and the left demonizing the right for things it hasn’t done are far from over. Following a meme already developed by the left, NPR has run a slanderous hit-piece that refers to an upswing in “right-wing hate groups” and “patriot groups” and a potential increase in violence from these groups. The proof? Why, Joe Stack and Patrick Bedell, both insane and both left-of-center politically. It’s great to know that right-wing extremism is to blame for left-wing nutjobs killing people.
The NPR piece references the far-left propaganda machine, the Southern Poverty Law center, which has a long history of ignoring violent groups on the left and classifying any right-wing political group it can find as violent and hate-filled. Read the rest of this entry »
Five Names in Liberal Violence
Posted by The Republican Heretic in Conspiracy, Liberalism, Media, Radicalism on Tue 16 Mar 2010
Given the recent fuss over the blame game in the media regarding politically motivated violence, John Hawkins from Right Wing News has written an article for Townhall covering five big names on the left — organizations and people — that have committed (or attempted to commit) acts of politically motivated violence, but have been largely ignored by the mainstream media. On the Coffee Party (Updated)
Posted by The Republican Heretic in Media, National Politics, Tea Party on Mon 15 Mar 2010
Much ado has been generated by this new political phenomenon known as the “Coffee Party.” The Coffee Party is presenting itself as some kind of grassroots, genuine , common-sense response to the hatred, venom, and racism that form the core of liberals attempt to find in the Tea Party. In reality, it is an astroturf pseudo-movement created by an Obama supporter, dedicated to, well, supporting Obama, which has very little real participation but lots and lots of media hype. House Republicans Approve Earmark Ban
Posted by The Republican Heretic in Conservatism, Economy and Spending, National Politics on Thu 11 Mar 2010
By Jove, it looks like Republicans have started to remember that they’re supposed to be fiscally conservative! Republicans in the House have approved a memorandum on spending earmarks.
House Republicans on Thursday agreed to forgo earmarks in all 2011 spending bills, a broad measure meant to show a willingness to clean up Washington and rein in federal spending.
The measure passed by a voice vote after a two-hour marathon session behind closed doors in a conference room in the Capitol Visitors Center. Even the top Republican on the Appropriations Committee, Jerry Lewis of California, offered his support of the measure. Read the rest of this entry »

5 Ways Liberals Misjudge Americans
Posted by The Republican Heretic in Liberalism on Wed 10 Mar 2010
John Hawkins at Right Wing News presents his latest Townhall column: 5 Way Liberals Misjudge the American People.
One of the reasons liberals tend to do such an incredibly poor job of governing is that they fundamentally misunderstand the nature of the American people. Given that liberals also fundamentally misunderstand Christianity, the Constitution, economics, and human nature, I guess it’s no big surprise that they don’t get the American people either. Come to think of it, I guess it’s pretty much par for the course. I mean, let’s face it, without conservatives around to help keep them in check, liberals would utterly destroy everything that is good about America and most of them would be baffled about what they were doing wrong right up until the end.
Socialism, and left-wing politics in general, is based upon ignorance of basic human nature. In fact, one of the flaws of socialist theory is that is presupposes that there is not human nature, that we are all products of our environments. This leads to the conclusion that if the perfect environment can be created, then perfect people will result. But people aren’t like that, and failing to understand that fact only increases the lack of connection between liberals and the American people.

Obama’s Imaginary Budget
Posted by The Republican Heretic in Corruption, Economy and Spending, Media, National Politics, Obama Administration on Sat 06 Mar 2010
Whilst persusing a column at Reason Magazine on the Value Added Tax, TrogloPundit at Right Wing News caught a little detail of interest:
Writing at Reason, the outstandingly named economist Veronique de Rugy included this sentence in a column about the Value Added Tax, and why it won’t work:
Take President Obama’s first budget, released last year. In it, he assumed that most of the $600 billion coming from proposed cap-and-trade fees would be allocated to deficit reduction. A year later, his budget still assumes the revenue (even though the law is not yet passed)…
What? His budget includes revenues from Cap and Trade? He knows, doesn’t he, that Cap and Trade isn’t the law yet, and doesn’t stand a very good chance of becoming the law? Read the rest of this entry »
Truther Shoots Up Pentagon (Updated)
Posted by The Republican Heretic in Media, National News, National Politics, Radicalism on Fri 05 Mar 2010
Yesterday a “well-dressed, well-educated” man armed to the teeth walked up to the Pentagon, pulled out a gun, and started shooting. Police responded by shooting him in the head, and he is now resting comfortably in a freezer in someone’s morgue. The man, John Patrick Bedell, was connected to “anti-government writings.” Unfortunately, the media didn’t get too far with their “violence+anti-government=tea party” meme before the truth came out — Bedell was a left-wing, anti-Bush 9/11 truther. Tea Party Extremists
Posted by The Republican Heretic in Media, National Politics on Wed 03 Mar 2010
The buzz that has been generated by the left and the mainstream media is that the Tea Party movement is filled with violent, racist, hate-mongering, unenlightened, ignorant, theocratic, anti-government militia types that want people to fly airplanes into federal offices. It seems to be accepted that agreeing in any way with positions advocated by the Tea Party makes you a John Birch birther seperatist militia who jumps when Glenn Beck sneezes and froths at the mouth whenever the neurons in Bill Maher’s elitist brain make connections to each other.
